I’ve been wanting to put together this list of homemade pizza recipes for a long time, especially since we’ve already shared so many variations on this website. Pizza is such a fun dish for any occasion—everyone loves it, making it totally family-friendly. It’s easy to customize, with endless topping options, and you can adjust the budget to fit your needs. Here, I’m sharing 12 recipes that I consider easy enough to make at home.

Pizza is quite popular in many places, and the recipe is easy to adapt to local tastes. Personally, I’m more used to savory toppings. So when a friend once offered me a sweet-topped pizza, I was a bit surprised.
It's the pizza with banana, sweet raisins, and a little chocolate, even though there was some cheese too. It tasted… kind of unusual. But my children said it was actually good. I’m just not really used to it. Pizza is so popular that every region has its own unique interpretation.
Basic Tips for Homemade Pizza Recipes
- The homemade dough. Use high-protein flour (bread flour) for a chewier texture. Knead until smooth and elastic, then let it proof until it doubles in size (about 1–2 hours, from my experience, it’s best not to let it go much longer than 2 hours.)
- If you don’t want to go through too much hassle, you can use ready-made bread or tortillas. It’s a great way to switch up the flavors while saving time.
- Use a very hot oven. Preheat your oven to at least 220–250°C (425–480°F). The hotter the oven, the better the crust—crispy outside, soft inside.
- Don’t overload the toppings. Too many toppings can make your pizza soggy. Keep it simple so everything cooks evenly. Stay strong even if your husband keeps fussing and wants to add this and that, hahaha.
- Go light on the sauce. Spread a thin layer so the dough doesn’t get wet.
- Have fun with toppings. Go savory, sweet (well not for me!), or mix it up. Just adjust to your taste.
Why I Recommend These 12 Homemade Pizza Recipes
- There are several cooking methods you can use—even an air fryer works! This is one of my proudest recipes, just a little bragging, haha.
- I’ve experimented with a wide variety of toppings—for example, using halloumi, just in case you’re not familiar with this type of cheese. But I haven’t really tried making sweet toppings myself.
- Oh, and pizza can also be made high-protein without any crust at all—fun, right? You’ve got to try my crustless pizza ;).
- Some are vegan too!
- I also like to mix up the shapes, so it’s not always just round.
