Learn how to make roasted almonds in your oven.  Dry roasted almonds are full of flavor and make a fantastic healthy snack. You can also use these oven baked almonds in cereal, yogurt or cover them in chocolate for a treat.  Making roasted almonds at home is just so easy you'll want to do it again and again.

I recently added a recipe for Air Fryer Roasted Almonds to the blog that people went nuts for (pun intended).  Since not everyone has an air fryer, I thought I'd better hurry up and add an oven roasted almonds recipe on here too.

I must admit I always used to buy roasted almonds from the supermarket but after making my own I realised just how much better they are fresh!  Plus they usually come in super large packets that I find it hard to finish, so buying a pack of plain almonds that I can use in many different ways is much more appealing!

It really is so easy to make roasted almonds at home in the oven.  I know a lot of roasted almond recipes use oil, salt and spices but honestly a dry roast is not only healthier but perfectly delicious on it's own right.  Give it a try - I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

How do you roast almonds at home?

Preheat the oven to 150C / 300F and line a baking tray with a silicone mat or baking paper.

Pour a cup of almonds onto the baking tray and spread out into a single layer.  Cook the almonds for 7 - 10 minutes, or until browned and fragrant.  Stir the nuts once or twice while cooking to ensure they roast evenly.

Move the almonds to a bowl to cool completely before putting them in an airtight jar or container to store.

SERVING SUGGESTIONS

Roasted almonds are great as a snack on their own. For a delicious dessert try using them to make Chocolate Covered Almonds.

They can also be chopped up and mixed into cereal and yogurt.  Or on top of Easy Stovetop Banana Oatmeal.  They also make great salad toppers - this Roast Pumpkin, Spinach and Feta Salad is a great option.

STORING ADVICE

Roasted almonds will stay fresh in an airtight jar or container at room temperature for months.

TOP TIPS

  • Almonds can go from roasted to burnt quite quickly so make sure you keep an eye on them from the 7 minute mark.
  • The almonds will continue to cook slightly when removed from the oven so don't leave them too long.
  • Test your almonds to see if they are done.  They should have a nice crunch to them and taste toasted, not burnt!
  • Don't put the almonds in an airtight jar or containers until they are fully cooled.
  • Feel free to make more than one cup of almonds, just ensure they all fit on a single layer on the baking tray or cook on two baking trays.
  • Dry roasted almonds make a great gift.  Pop them in cute jars and surprise people on the holidays.

Honestly, I first tried making these on a whim. A friend and I were having a lazy weekend baking session, and we had a jar of chocolate hazelnut spread lying around. We decided to see what happened if we added it to our brownie batter.

Maybe this is the closest I’ll ever get to Gigi Hadid, hahaha. This Gigi Hadid Pasta is actually just a version of the classic Italian-American dish, penne alla vodka. But back during the Covid era, Gigi Hadid shared the recipe on her social media, and ever since then, everyone’s been calling it Gigi Hadid Pasta.

Plus, it's super simple to make with minimum prep time, so even if you're not a pro in the kitchen, you've got this.

Here's what you'll need to make this recipe:

8 ounces or 225 grams of pasta (like penne)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, finely minced
1 small shallot, chopped (or red onion)
¼ cup tomato paste
2 tablespoons vodka (optional)
