These healthy Mini Apple Crisps make a quick and easy dessert. The crisps are refined sugar free with a simple crumb topping made of old-fashioned oats. Don't worry, you won't miss the sugar for a second.

Almost every night I get a craving for something sweet after dinner. I generally try and chase these cravings away by eating a piece of fruit, but some nights a plain apple just isn't going to cut it! And that's where these Mini Apple Crisps come in.
This is my go-to emergency healthy dessert recipe. I love that it's so quick and easy to put together, with minimal hands-on time. I love that it's a small batch recipe, so I can't be tempted to eat more. And I LOVE that it's a delicious dessert that I can feel good about eating.

Next time you're scratching around the pantry looking for something sweet, why not whip up an individual apple crisp instead? I bet you already have all the ingredients on hand!
ARE APPLE CRISP & APPLE CRUMBLE THE SAME THING?
Crumbles and crisps are arguably the same thing. They both contain fresh fruit and a streusel-like topping that gets baked until the fruit is cooked.
The only difference is traditionally crisps contain oats while crumbles do not. Although these days it would appear most people use the terms interchangeably .
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Here's what you'll need to make these mini crisps (full measurements listed in the printable recipe card below)...
- Apples - I love using pink lady in the recipe, but any baking apple (granny smith, honeycrisp etc) would work well here.
- Old Fashioned / Rolled Oats - Traditional rolled oats or old fashioned oats as they are also known.
- Butter
- Rice Malt / Brown Rice Syrup - OR you could use honey or maple syrup if you'd prefer.
- Cinnamon
- Wholemeal / Whole wheat Flour - OR you could white all purpose flour or almond meal if you'd prefer.
- Lemon
How to make Mini Apple Crisps - Step by Step
Preheat oven to 160C / 320F.
Thinly slice apples, place in a bowl together with the rest of the filling ingredients. Mix well with your hands, then divide evenly amongst two ramekins.
Mix topping ingredients in a seperate bowl until well combined. Divide the topping evenly over the filling.
Place ramekins in the oven for 30 minutes or until topping is browned and apples are fork tender.
Serve and enjoy (tastes great by itself but if you want to enjoy with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream you know I support you 100%) .

TIPS FOR MAKING THIS RECIPE
- I like to use pink lady apples, but feel free to use your favourite. Granny smith, honeycrisp etc would work well.
- I use a 4oz or 12cm x 5cm ramekin - feel free to use the next closest size.
- Don't have ramekins? Use oven-safe glass jars or even a mug - they work just as well!
- Got an air fryer? Make these Air Fryer Apple Crisps instead!
- This recipe yields two individual crisps. If you aren't going to eat them immediately, feel free to store them in the fridge. They will be fine in the fridge for up to 3 days, so feel free to make ahead and reheat in the microwave or oven when you're ready.

How cute are these?! I haven't had apple crisp in such a long time and will have to give your recipe a try. I'm so glad I ran across it because there isn't a lot of added sugar and all of the ingredients are natural. Thanks (as always) for another wonderful and healthy recipe! x

I love individual servings of apple crisp. That way everyone gets the right amount of crumble.
