Golden Syrup Dumplings are a classic Australian dessert. If you haven't been lucky enough to try it before here's what you're looking at - balls of dough baked in a thick and bubbly syrup sauce until they transform into sweet dumplings with caramelised edges. It's best served hot out of the oven with some vanilla ice cream or cream on top.
My sister has been making this recipe for as long as I can remember and it's always a hit. She very generously shared her recipe with me so I could share it here and I'm so happy she did. Having never made it myself until recently, I discovered just how easy it is to throw together and it's become my default dessert when I need to rustle up something fast.
I know your family will love it as much as ours - enjoy!
